Aprilia SR 160: Sporty, Stylish, and Feature-Packed

The Aprilia SR 160 is offered in three exciting variants – Standard, Race, and Carbon – with prices starting around ₹1.33 lakh (ex-showroom). For 2022, it gets a major makeover, sporting a revamped front fascia with a sleek new LED headlight and redesigned apron, lending it a premium, aggressive look. The handlebar cowl has also been updated to match the bold design language.

In terms of size, the SR 160 measures 1985 mm in length and 806 mm in width, with a stable 1365 mm wheelbase. It rides on large 14-inch alloy wheels and comes equipped with a 6-litre fuel tank, ideal for longer commutes.

Step inside the cockpit and you’ll find a fully-digital instrument cluster, shared with the Aprilia SXR 160. This advanced console displays vital information such as speed, RPM, mileage, average and top speed, fuel level, odometer, and clock. Practicality hasn’t been overlooked either – there’s 11 litres of underseat storage, a boot light, and a USB charging port for convenience on the go.

Powering the SR 160 is a punchy 160 cc, air-cooled, three-valve engine producing 10.84 bhp at 7600 rpm and 11.6 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm, mated to a smooth CVT. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and a rear adjustable monoshock, ensuring a comfortable ride. For braking, it features a 220 mm front disc with single-channel ABS, while the rear uses a 140 mm drum brake.

The Aprilia SR 160 is available in five stylish colours – White, Blue, Grey, Red, and Matt Black – and goes up against rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and, to a degree, the Vespa 150, offering a compelling blend of performance and style.
