Bajaj Pulsar N160
Description
Bajaj Auto has made waves in the sports commuter segment with the launch of the all-new Pulsar N160, marking the second model built on the Pulsar 250 platform. Priced aggressively at ₹1.23 lakh for the single-channel ABS variant and ₹1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the segment-first dual-channel ABS version, the N160 carries forward the design DNA of its larger sibling, the N250. The styling remains faithful to the family look with its signature projector headlamp featuring distinctive LED DRLs, while the side and rear panels mirror the quarter-litre model’s muscular aesthetics.
Power comes from a 164.82cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine delivering 15.7 bhp and 14.65 Nm of torque, making it slightly less powerful than the outgoing NS160 it’s likely to replace. The chassis features telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, complemented by dual disc brakes and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 100/80 (front) and 130/70 (rear) tyres. Modern touches include a semi-digital instrument cluster (borrowed from the N250) and USB charging.
With a 14-litre fuel tank and a kerb weight of 154 kg, the N160 offers three vibrant color options for the single-ABS variant (Racing Red, Techno Grey, Caribbean Blue), while the dual-ABS version exclusively comes in Brooklyn Black. Positioned to take on rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R, and Suzuki Gixxer, the Pulsar N160 combines aggressive styling with competitive performance in this hotly contested segment.
