Description
The next-generation Kia Seltos has been spotted testing on Indian roads, following earlier sightings in South Korea and a brief appearance in a recent Hyundai design documentary. The heavily camouflaged prototype suggests a major design revamp in line with Kia’s latest styling direction.
Despite the camouflage, key design changes are visible. The front fascia features a new split headlamp configuration with vertically stacked LED DRLs, likely connected by a light strip along the bonnet line—a design trait shared with newer Kia models like the Syros and upcoming Carens Clavis. Other visible updates include redesigned ORVMs and what seems to be an ADAS sensor integrated into the front bumper.
The SUV retains its upright stance but now appears slightly boxier with a revised window line, enhancing its SUV character. The alloy wheels sport a fresh design, consistent with Kia’s modern aesthetic. At the rear, the new model is expected to incorporate a full-width LED light bar linking the updated taillamps.
While the prototype seems to have similar dimensions to the current Seltos, the cabin details remain hidden for now. However, Kia is anticipated to bring updates to the interior design and feature set to keep it fresh.
Globally, Kia has confirmed the new Seltos will offer a hybrid powertrain. The company also plans to introduce hybrid models in India, aiming for hybrids to account for 25% of its sales by 2030.
The next-gen Kia Seltos is likely to be unveiled later this year, with sales expected to commence in early 2026. First introduced in India in August 2019 and facelifted in July 2023, the Seltos continues to be one of Kia’s best-selling models in the country.
