TVS Jupiter 125
Description
TVS Motor Company has broadened its 125cc scooter lineup with the introduction of the all-new Jupiter 125. Prices start at ₹86,405 for the Drum Alloy variant, ₹90,655 for the Disc Alloy variant, and go up to ₹96,855 for the top-end SmartXonnect version (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Designed as a true family-friendly scooter, the Jupiter 125 is built entirely from scratch. While it shares the same wheelbase as the Jupiter 110, it features a longer and wider frame, along with several new and segment-first features.
Visually, the Jupiter 125 carries forward TVS’s signature styling, with an LED headlamp positioned at the top and indicators housed in the front apron. The indicators now include LED guide lights, giving the scooter a distinctive new look. The LED taillight design has also been refreshed and is now broader. The top-spec disc brake version adds chrome elements to the front apron, headlamp, side panels, and exhaust, while the grab rail comes with an integrated reflector. The scooter features a full-metal body and is available in vibrant color options including orange, white, blue, and grey. Premium-looking 3D badging enhances its appeal.
Several practical enhancements have been made to the Jupiter 125. The fuel tank is now positioned under the floorboard, with the filler cap moved to the front, enabling a more balanced 60:40 weight distribution, a lower center of gravity, and a spacious 32-litre under-seat storage compartment. The wider floorboard offers better legroom and a flat surface ideal for carrying goods. Additional features include an analogue-digital instrument cluster, an all-in-one ignition switch, TVS Intelligo auto start-stop, a one-touch starter, and a combi-braking system.
Powering the scooter is a newly-developed 124.8cc single-cylinder engine, delivering 8.18 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 10.5 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, paired with a CVT transmission. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks in the front and a segment-first gas-charged monoshock at the rear. Braking options vary, with the top model featuring front disc and rear drum brakes, while lower trims come with drum brakes at both ends.
Targeted at family-focused commuters, the TVS Jupiter 125 competes with other 125cc scooters like the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, and Hero Destini 125.
