Aprilia RS 660 & Tuono 660: Middleweight Performance Redefined

Bringing Italian precision and performance to the middleweight segment, the Aprilia RS 660 and Tuono 660 offer two distinct personalities built on the same high-performance foundation. Launched globally in late 2020 and quickly confirmed for the Indian market, these bikes signal a new era for Aprilia’s road and track-focused offerings.

The RS 660 is purpose-built for the racetrack with clip-on handlebars and a more aggressive, leaned-forward riding position, designed to give riders a competitive edge. On the other hand, the Tuono 660 delivers a more upright and relaxed ergonomics, making it a great companion for spirited street rides and daily fun.

In terms of styling, both motorcycles come in a selection of bold colours:

• RS 660: Apex Black, Lava Red, and Acid Gold

• Tuono 660: Concept Black, Iridium Grey, and Acidic Gold

At the core of both machines is a 659 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree firing order, derived from the front bank of the RSV4 1100’s V4 motor. The RS 660 puts out 99 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm, while the Tuono 660 is tuned slightly lower, delivering 95 bhp with the same torque figures. A 6-speed gearbox ensures quick and precise gear shifts.

The chassis setup includes 41 mm Kayaba USD front forks and a rear monoshock mounted asymmetrically, providing excellent handling and road feedback. Stopping power is equally impressive, courtesy of 320 mm dual front discs and a 220 mm rear disc.

Both motorcycles ride on cast aluminium wheels wrapped in high-performance Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres, and feature a 15-litre fuel tank. The kerb weight stands at 183 kg, offering an optimal power-to-weight ratio for this segment.
