Launched in December 2020, the Aprilia SXR 160 brought a fresh wave of style and substance to the Indian maxi-scooter segment. Priced at ₹1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, India), it offers a well-balanced blend of performance, comfort, and tech.

The scooter boasts a full suite of LED lighting along with a sleek LCD instrument cluster that’s both functional and futuristic. Riders benefit from a multifunctional display that provides detailed information — from speed, RPM, and fuel efficiency to average speed, trip details, and warning indicators. For added convenience, a USB charging port is integrated as standard.

At the heart of the SXR 160 lies a 160cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, which puts out 10.5 bhp and 11.6 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT gearbox for smooth and hassle-free acceleration. The scooter rides on telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear, delivering a stable and comfortable ride experience.

Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both ends, paired with single-channel ABS to ensure enhanced safety. It runs on 12-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in wide 120-section tyres, giving it a planted stance and strong road grip.

The Aprilia SXR 160 competes primarily with the Yamaha Aerox 155, while also serving as a premium alternative to models like the Vespa SXL 150.
