Bajaj Avenger Street 160
Description
On May 10, 2019, Bajaj Auto launched the new Avenger Street 160 ABS in India, replacing the older Street 180 model. This entry-level cruiser motorcycle blends roadster and cruiser styling with features like a street-style handlebar, low-slung seat, alloy wheels, and a single-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) as standard. Drawing design cues from its larger Avenger siblings, the bike features an LED headlight, blacked-out engine casing, refreshed graphics, a prominent logo, and a rubberized rear grip rail for enhanced comfort. Under the hood, it packs a 160.4 cc single-cylinder engine that produces 14.7 bhp and 13.5 Nm of torque, matching the Avenger 180’s performance while surpassing the Avenger 150. The improved power-to-weight ratio increases efficiency from 98 bhp to 103.3 bhp. Power is transmitted through a 5-speed manual gearbox, ensuring smooth rides in both city and highway conditions. The bike’s ergonomic design includes an upright riding posture, extended footrests, and 177 mm ground clearance for comfort. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers, while braking is managed by a 220 mm front disc with ABS and a rear drum brake, offering a balanced mix of style, comfort, and performance for cruising enthusiasts.
