BMW Launches All-New Seventh-Gen 7 Series in India at ₹1.70 Crore
BMW has introduced the all-new, seventh-generation 7 Series in India, with the 740i M Sport variant priced at ₹1.70 crore (ex-showroom). This latest iteration is built on a significantly updated version of BMW’s CLAR platform and marks a bold new chapter in the brand’s design language.
Striking New Design
Visually, the new 7 Series makes a strong statement with its prominent kidney grille and a distinctive split headlamp setup. The sleek daytime running lights sit along the edge of the bonnet, while the main headlight units are positioned lower on the bumper, creating a more aggressive front fascia. The profile remains elegant with a classic three-box silhouette and a sharp shoulder line stretching the length of the car. At the rear, the redesigned LED tail-lamps are slimmer, complemented by a revamped bumper for a more contemporary look.
Luxurious and Tech-Forward Cabin
Inside, the cabin receives a comprehensive overhaul. The dashboard features a modern layered design with touch-sensitive controls on the centre console. A new, single-piece curved display unit seamlessly integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger 14.9-inch touchscreen running BMW’s latest iDrive 8 interface. For rear-seat passengers, BMW has replaced conventional controls with individual tablets embedded in the door panels, allowing personalized control over seat adjustments and other functions.
Larger, More Spacious
Dimensionally, the new 7 Series is both longer and wider than its predecessor, offering an even more spacious and luxurious experience for occupants.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the India-spec 7 Series is powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. A diesel engine option is expected to join the lineup at a later stage.
