BMW India Unleashes the Powerful M8 Coupe at ₹2.23 Crore

BMW India has bolstered its flagship portfolio with the introduction of the M8 Coupe, priced at ₹2.23 crore (ex-showroom). This high-performance machine leads the new 8 Series range and rivals the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe in the luxury performance segment. While BMW offers Convertible and Gran Coupe variants of the M8 globally—including a more potent Competition version—only the M8 Coupe makes its way to Indian shores for now.

The M8 Coupe, along with the 8 Series Gran Coupe, is available exclusively through BMW’s Contactless Experience digital sales platform, as physical dealerships gradually reopen across the country.

“The 8 Series has always represented our most emotionally charged vehicles,” says Piera Kaempf, Head of BMW Product Management. “These are dream cars. The M8 Coupe, especially, pushes that vision further—it’s bolder, more expressive, and brimming with performance. From its signature M kidney grille to its twin exhaust system, the design screams power.”

At its heart, the M8 Coupe houses BMW’s latest 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8, delivering 592 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, the car rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Drivers can tailor the experience with selectable Comfort, Sport, and Sport+ modes, while the Adaptive M Suspension ensures each wheel responds optimally to road conditions.

Design-wise, the M8 Coupe carries the signature aggression of the M division: a low-slung profile, swept-back laser headlights, prominent kidney grille, and flared aluminium fenders with M gills. Carbon fibre features heavily, especially in the roof, enhancing both aesthetics and weight reduction. At the rear, a sporty diffuser, lip spoiler, and quad exhausts round off its muscular stance.

Inside, the cabin exudes sophistication and sportiness. The Merino leather M Sport seats, ambient lighting, Harman Kardon sound system, and M-specific touches create a driver-focused environment. The cockpit features a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, integrated with gesture control, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, and BMW’s Display Key. Options like M Carbon ceramic brakes, M Driver’s Package, M Carbon engine cover, and M seat belts let buyers further personalise their super coupe.

Safety isn’t overlooked, with standard features including six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, ABS, Attentive Assist, and electronic brakeforce distribution. Buyers can also opt for BMW Night Vision with pedestrian detection for added peace of mind.
