Kawasaki KLX 140G
Description
The Kawasaki KLX 140G is a purpose-built off-road machine, available in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹4.06 lakh. Designed strictly for dirt and trail use, it doesn’t come with road-legal essentials like headlights, indicators, or a registration plate—making it unsuitable for public roads. Instead, this bike thrives on motocross tracks, trail rides, and enduro-style adventures, perfect for honing your off-road riding skills. However, the downside is that you’ll need to transport it to your favorite trail via trailer or truck, since it can’t be ridden on the street legally.
Powering the KLX 140G is a 144cc air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It’s housed within a high-tensile steel perimeter box-section chassis that ensures nimble handling and solid rider control.
Suspension duties are handled by a 33 mm telescopic front fork with 190 mm of travel, and a fully adjustable aluminium rear monoshock (preload, compression, and rebound damping) offering 200 mm of rear wheel travel. This setup ensures excellent bump absorption and stability across varying terrain.
Braking is top-notch too, featuring a 220 mm petal disc with dual-piston calipers at the front, and a 190 mm petal disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear, providing reliable stopping power on rough trails.
Rolling on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel setup, the KLX 140G also boasts a seat height of 860 mm, 315 mm ground clearance, and a kerb weight of just 99 kg. This lightweight build makes it ideal for newer riders who want to develop their off-road skills, while still offering enough performance to thrill seasoned enthusiasts.
