Kawasaki Versys 1000

India Kawasaki Motor has rolled out the 2022 Versys 1000 in the Indian market, pricing it at ₹11.72 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in a single variant, this litre-class sport tourer now comes exclusively in the striking Candy Lime Green color scheme. While the mechanical and design elements remain unchanged for the new model year, the 2022 version introduces a new K-Care ownership package, enhancing long-term ownership value and peace of mind. Deliveries are slated to begin by mid-November across India.

Design-wise, the Versys 1000 sticks to its familiar, comfort-focused layout. You’ll find dual LED headlamps, a tall adjustable windscreen, expansive front fairing, and split seats, all contributing to rider and pillion comfort during long-distance rides. The Versys 1000 remains one of the most approachable litre-class tourers in the country, designed for effortless long-haul cruising.

Powering the machine is the tried-and-tested 1043 cc inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which continues to meet BS6 norms. It produces 118 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 102 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear transitions.

The suspension setup comprises 43 mm upside-down front forks offering 150 mm of travel, while the rear features a gas-charged monoshock with 152 mm of travel, delivering a balanced ride quality. Braking duties are managed by dual 310 mm petal discs at the front and a 250 mm petal disc at the rear, supported by ABS.

Additional features include a semi-digital instrument console, cruise control, an adjustable visor, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, and traction control, all geared toward making it a refined and high-tech tourer. The bike also offers excellent touring range, thanks to a 21-litre fuel tank, while tipping the scales at 255 kg.

A major highlight is the K-Care package, which includes a 4-year extended warranty and annual maintenance contract, transferable to the next owner—making it a practical choice for long-term buyers. This ownership program is also available on other Kawasaki models in India.
