Description
In India, the TVS iQube electric scooter is priced at ₹1.68 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in a single variant and color. It is powered by a 4.4 kW hub-mounted BLDC motor and features a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Launched in early 2020, the iQube marks TVS Motor Company’s debut in the electric two-wheeler space. It combines a conventional scooter design with modern technology, offering decent performance and a practical electric range.
Though it retains the classic scooter silhouette, the iQube incorporates futuristic design elements like a U-shaped LED DRL on the handlebar cowl, along with sleek LED headlamp and taillamp units. It also includes a large seat, spacious footboard, generous under-seat storage, and utility features like baggage hooks and a USB charging port for added convenience.
The scooter draws power from three lithium-ion batteries with a combined capacity of 2.25 kWh, offering a claimed range of 75 km on a full charge, which takes about five hours. The motor delivers 140 Nm of torque at the wheels, with a top speed of 40 km/h in Eco mode and 78 km/h in Sport mode. It accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
Additional highlights include full-LED lighting, a color TFT instrument cluster with TVS’ SmartXonnect technology, which connects to smartphones via Bluetooth. This system provides turn-by-turn navigation, ride statistics, remote battery status, geo-fencing alerts, and call/message notifications. A Q-Park feature is also included to assist with easy parking.
Riding on 12-inch wheels, the iQube uses telescopic forks at the front and dual rear shock absorbers for suspension. The scooter weighs 118 kg, making it a practical, tech-loaded option in the electric mobility segment.
